The cost and our healthcare system

Alternative medicine treatments are not covered by Ayleen's health insurance. Furthermore, the university hospital has to get approval for medications from the health insurance before a treatment can be started.

Intolerable, given the gravity of Ayleen's situation and the time pressure!

By now, expenses for naturopath, lab tests and transportation have used up the financial resources of Ayleen's parents. Currently, these expenses accumulate as follows:

• Naturopath: €2,500
• Lab tests: €500
• Travel expenses: €600
• Nanny: €500

In total, Ayleen's family has to come up with an extra of €4,100 - every month!

Over time, this will ruin the financial situation of the family!
